Agility Metric Robustness Using Linear Error Theory
The robustness of agility metrics has been studied to determine the sensitivity of selected metrics to variations in initial conditions and uncertainties in physical characteristics and coef cients. The selected metrics are time to roll through bank anglemetric, time-averaged integral of pitch rate metric, and power onset/loss parameter. Each metric was evaluated with initial condition errors ...
متن کاملChoosing Error Models for OS Robustness Evaluations
The increasing use of software (SW) and its increasing complexity, which are necessitated by the need to flexibly control more systems of increasing complexity, raise the demand for rapid SW development. In order to reduce the development effort, large fractions of SW systems are constructed from reusable SW components. Due to their complexity, operating systems (OSs) are for instance frequentl...
متن کاملError-Robustness of Polar Contour-Coding
* This work was supported in part by the Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research (N.W.O.) under project DEL55.3671: Mobile Multimedia Communication. This is a multidisciplinary project which aims to investigate various aspects of communication between mobile users using multimedia. The research topics include the usefulness of the application of MMC in work-coordination, the user-inter...
متن کاملImproving Error Robustness of H.263 Bitstreams
In this work we present a solution for the transmission of H.263 bitstream over error prone channels. The significance of each H.263 syntactical element has been investigated. This allows designing Equal (EEP) and Unequal Error Protection (UEP) schemes. By using a joint source-channel coding scheme we achieved video PSNR improvements over 20 dB.
متن کاملRobustness to unknown error in sparse regularization
Quadratically-constrained basis pursuit has become a popular device in sparse regularization; in particular, in the context of compressed sensing. However, the majority of theoretical error estimates for this regularizer assume an a priori bound on the noise level, which is usually lacking in practice. In this paper, we develop stability and robustness estimates which remove this assumption. Fi...
